Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a full time passionate and skilled Chocolatier/Confectioner to join our team at the start of August. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and an artistic flair for creating exquisite chocolate confections. Work days extend from Tuesday-Saturday. As an Assistant Chocolatier, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality chocolates, truffles, ganaches, pate de fruit, caramels, dragees, and other sweet treats while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, exceptional multi-tasking abilities, and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in our front end.

Duties

Comfortable with repetitive tasks and standing for 8 hours.
Create a variety of chocolate products including bonbons, bark, dragee, caramels, and specialty fillings.
Prepare and package chocolates for retail display and customer orders.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of all products.
Collaborate with team members to develop new recipes and seasonal offerings.
Interact with customers to provide information about products and assist with selections.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, informing orders as needed.
Participate in promotional events and tastings to showcase chocolate creations.

Skills

Strong knowledge of chocolate tempering techniques, and chocolate fluidity for shelling work.
Experience in baking or working within the food industry is preferred.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with clients.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Creativity in designing unique chocolate products that appeal to customers.
Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools related to chocolate making, such as tempering machines, bain maire, piping bags, etc.
