Full job description

Financial Controller, Head Accountant

Laird Wheaton GM is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented controller to join our leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in the financial success of a growing dealership.

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting operations and month-end/year-end close.
Prepare financial statements and management reports.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Reconcile bank accounts and manufacturer schedules.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting.
Work closely with dealership management to support business decisions.
Maintain and optimize accounting processes using the PBS Dealer Management System (DMS).

Qualifications:

Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is a significant asset and will be given preferential consideration, although not a requirement.
Experience with PBS DMS is considered an asset.
Automotive dealership accounting experience is valuable but not required.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
