Key Responsibilities
As the Director of Finance and Accounting, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping the financial future of the organization. Your key responsibilities include:
- Financial Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives, ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections to support data-driven decision-making, and be the key contact for treasury.
- Risk Management & Controls: Establish and maintain internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
- Audit & Regulatory Compliance: Manage year-end audits, liaise with external auditors, and ensure compliance with tax and financial regulations.
- Business Performance & Analysis: Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, leveraging data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational efficiencies.
- Capital Management & Investment Strategy: Assess financial risks and opportunities, oversee financial planning for acquisitions, and optimize capital structure.
- Technology & Process Optimization: Evaluate and enhance accounting systems and financial reporting tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team to support company objectives.
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a highly competent, detail-oriented, and diligent finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong sense of accountability. The ideal candidate is collaborative, calm under pressure, and brings a steady, patient approach to leadership and decision-making. You are naturally curious, committed to continuous learning, and excited by the opportunity to explore and implement AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve operational effectiveness and scalability.
A dynamic, results-oriented finance leader with a proven track record of success in financial management, strategic planning, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess:
- CPA designation (CA, CMA, or CGA preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
- Experience in real estate or a related industry is a strong asset
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities to collaborate with executive teams and stakeholders
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and accountability
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to contribute to healthy debate and thoughtful discussion in pursuit of the best outcomes
- Interest in leveraging AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve processes and decision-making
