Position Summary:
The Quality Control Technician position is primarily assigned to tasks ensuring the overall quality of the treated product through their involvement in product & chemical sampling, visual inspections, review/entry of treating reports, date check and cycle counts of treated products, tag verification and the organization of operations/inventory report related documents. They will also assist with the organization of the stormwater management systems (reports & visual inspections) and yard inspections (with a focus on environmental impacts and inventory rotation).
Responsibilities:
- Work in compliance with all company rules and regulations
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies and SOPs
- Wear all PPE required and work in a safe manner
- Participate in all company mandated training in good faith
- Come to work prepared (both mentally and materially) to work in a variety of environments (all seasons, indoors & outdoors)
- Have excellent knowledge of operations and processes as necessary to the position
- Complete appropriate forms legibly and clearly
- Perform computer functions as necessary to complete assigned paperwork
- Pay close attention to detail in all aspects of the position
- Quality sampling & process verification
- Cycle counting & tag verification
- Co-ordinate with different departments on Stormwater related issues
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain good housekeeping in all assigned areas
- Abide to OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) workplace health and safety standards
- Report all Health & Safety issues immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Forklift Experience is an asset but is not required
- Stand/walk for significant periods of time
- Excellent computer skills (Office Suite, web browsers etc.) and the ability to learn new programs
- Good manual dexterity, hand eye co-ordination
- Comfortable completing repetitive tasks
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent trouble-shooting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills
Ability to:
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Read and comprehend instructions, email correspondence, memos & schedules Communicate both verbally and electronically (email)
- Work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments
