Role and Objectives:
As a member of the Operations team, you will play a key role in the production and processing of high-quality mass timber products. Working in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for supporting various stages of the production process—from material handling and equipment operation to product assembly and quality control.
This position requires strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset. Candidates should be naturally inclined to prioritize safe work practices, proactively identify hazards, and contribute to a culture where safety is a shared responsibility.
This position requires strong situational awareness, attention to detail. Operations Team Members may rotate between different work areas including forklift/material movement, infeed operations, finger joint line, elevator drying, press, or other duties depending on production needs.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor automated and semi-automated equipment used in the production of mass timber products.
- Follow established procedures to ensure products meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Identify and report hazards, mechanical issues, or process irregularities immediately to the shift lead or supervisor.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing input on process efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Safely operate forklifts in confined spaces and busy production areas.
- Load, unload, and transport raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
- Maintain awareness of pedestrian traffic and other mobile equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
- Feed raw materials into production machinery at the start of the process.
- Verify lumber dimensions and quality prior to processing.
- Monitor and operate the fingerjoint assembly line where dimensional lumber is cut, glued, and joined automatically.
- Inspect joints and glued connections for proper alignment and adhesive application.
- Ensure continuous material flow and address minor machine stoppages as needed.
- Manage the movement and drying of lamellas within the elevator drying system.
- Ensure correct sequencing, moisture levels, and safe handling of materials.
- Coordinate with press and infeed operators to maintain continuous workflow.
- Oversee the CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) press process where lamellas are glued and pressed into solid panels.
- Monitor press settings, glue spread rates, and curing times to ensure quality output.
Requirements:
- Plant Operator program or certificate would be considered an asset.
- High school diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED).
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, construction, or production environment is an asset but not required.
- Experience using basic hand tools, power tools, or woodworking equipment is an advantage.
- On-the-job training will be provided for all key tasks, including safety procedures, equipment use, and quality standards.

Compensation Package:
- Salary: $28.75- $33.30
- Schedule: Friday-Sunday, 5:30am – 6:00pm
