Full job description

Training to commence: Early June
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Wage: $25 per hour

Michelle Ling Denturist Inc., operating as Kootenay SmiLing Denture Clinic, opened in January 2025 and is a small, family-run denture practice located on Baker Street in Nelson.

We are seeking a dependable and organized Office Administrator to join our team in a long-term position. This role is ideal for someone with experience in reception and basic accounting who enjoys taking ownership of office operations in a supportive, patient-focused environment.

Michelle is also happy to train the right candidate in basic dental technician tasks if there is interest in expanding skills.

Position Overview
This role supports the daily operations of the clinic, combining front-desk reception, patient coordination, administrative support, and light bookkeeping. You will play an important part in ensuring the office runs smoothly and patients feel welcomed and well cared for.

Key Responsibilities

Front-desk reception and patient communication (phone, email, in person)
Appointment scheduling and follow-ups using DomX software
Organization and maintenance of electronic and paper patient records
Insurance pre-authorizations, claims, and payment processing
Basic bookkeeping and office accounting using QuickBooks
Payroll processing and creditor payments
General office upkeep and cleanliness
Management of office and clinical supplies
Support with light clinical and laboratory tasks as trained

Ideal Experience & Skills

Previous experience in reception or administrative roles (dental or medical experience an asset)
Basic accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
Comfortable with computers and office software (Microsoft Office, cloud-based filing)
Strong organization, communication, and time-management skills
Reliable, detail-oriented, and professional
Willingness to learn and take initiative in a growing practice
