Options for Sexual Health (Options) is seeking a Clinic Coordinator for our Nelson Options Clinic.
Options is Canada's largest non-profit provider of sexual health services through clinics, education programs, and the 1-800 SEX SENSE information and referral line. Our mission is to provide comprehensive education, accurate information, support for sexual expression and reproductive choice, and confidential clinical services that help British Columbians enjoy healthy sexuality throughout life.
The clinic is located in Nelson, BC and runs every Monday of the month from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Our clinics provide non-judgmental birth control counselling, low cost contraceptives and supplies, sexually transmitted infection (STI) and Pap testing, pregnancy testing and options counseling, and general sexual health information and referrals. Services are offered for all ages, all genders, and all orientations.
This position reports to the Clinical Operations Manager, and liaises with provincial office and clinic staff to ensure the day to day clinic operations are managed.
Responsibilities
- Supervise clinic staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures while fostering a positive work environment.
- Manage patient scheduling and flow to optimize clinic operations and enhance patient satisfaction.
- Oversee the maintenance of electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care, including acute care services as needed.
- Assist in budgeting processes, monitoring expenses, and implementing cost-effective measures within the clinic.
- Facilitate human resources functions such as staff training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards within the clinic environment.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and practices to effectively communicate with staff and patients.
Skills
- Proven experience in supervising staff within a hospital or medical office setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems; experience with Dentrix is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to both clinical and administrative functions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of budgeting principles related to healthcare operations.
- Experience in human resources management within a clinical context is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Compensation Type: The position pays 30.60 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay in lieu of time off (6% after two years).
