Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Bus Driver/Active Living Aide to join our dedicated team. This role involves transporting residents safely and comfortably while providing active living support tailored to seniors and individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living or nursing home environments, with strong communication skills and a caring attitude. Responsibilities
- Safely operate passenger buses and vehicles to transport residents to appointments, activities, and community outings.
- Assist residents with mobility needs, ensuring their safety during transfers and while onboard.
- Support residents in participating in recreational activities, promoting active living and social engagement.
- Provide compassionate caregiving assistance, including helping with daily routines as needed.
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and family members to coordinate transportation and activity schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety checks of the vehicle before and after each use.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, traffic laws, and health guidelines to ensure resident safety at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or with senior care is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia care is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to connect empathetically with residents.
- Knowledge of caregiving best practices and safety procedures related to senior care.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays and weekends as needed.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents.
Pay: $20.36-$21.81 per hour
