The Opportunity:
Reporting to the clinic manager the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support. The position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume clinical practice. The incumbent will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including but not limited to; physicians, nurses and ophthalmic technicians to provide high quality care to all patients.
A Day in the Life (What you will do here):
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Superior communication skills, particularly verbal, with excellent “bedside manner”, professionalism, and active listening
- Knowledge of EMRs and MS Office suite of applications
- Very organized, with attention to detail
- Experience with a number of diagnostic tools such as IOLMaster and tests, including topography, refraction, slit lamp examination, lensometry, auto-refraction, visual acuity, fundus photography, tonometry, OCT testing of the retina, biometry, orb scan, lens star, iTrace.
- Patience, approachability and calm demeanor
- Ability to manage patient expectations and concerns
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the manager
What you need to ensure you are set up for success:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 1-3 years of clinical assistant/clerk experience.
- Effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Familiarity with the pharmaceutical or Ophthalmology industry.

The anticipated hourly rate, hiring range for this role is $21 to $23 hourly. The final base salary will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
