About the Role:
A Gas Technician will report to the Site Supervisor and/or Service Dispatcher and be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and certification of all gas systems and components.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to client service calls efficiently, ensuring prompt, high-quality customer service and issue resolution.
- Install pipes, fittings, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Review and interpret installation manuals, and accurately complete required forms, logs, and reports.
- Execute assigned work orders both independently and within a team environment with minimum supervision to assess situations, implement solutions, and perform physical work/tasks.
- Ensure all gas installations strictly comply with applicable municipal and provincial codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Source and order required materials, tools, and equipment for the installation, repair, and maintenance of gas and piping systems.
- Manage hot work permits and follow proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Utilize trade expertise to prepare safety documentation, safe work practices, and emergency response protocols to ensure quick and effective incident mitigation.
- Comply with all regulations, rights, and responsibilities outlined in the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Provide flexibility to handle after-hours emergency service calls and perform scheduled after-hours work when required.
- Other responsibilities or directives as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- Valid Gas Technician 2 (G2) license is required
- Minimum 1 year of gas fitting experience is required
- Valid driver's license is required
- Experience in commercial/industrial plumbing is an asset
- Team player who can work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
