Summary:

The Directional Drill Locator is responsible for verifying and marking existing underground utilities and drilling new underground utilities.

Job Duties Responsibilities:

With with the Horizontal Directional Driller in accordance with safe work procedures
Provide locating services, finding, verifying, and marking underground utilities
Complete administrative and maintenance tasks
Keep equipment and vehicles clean and in safe/working order
Communicate with other workers
Load and unload equipment in a safe manner
Must be willing to help connect product and or reamers
Report any accidents, damage, or defects immediately and work in a safe manner
Maintain a clean and safe environment and yard
Comply with all policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

1+ years of locating, directional drill or equivalent experience
Must have a valid driver’s license, Class 1 or 3 is considered an asset
Able to read, understand locate maps and construction plans
Physically capable of performing the duties of the position; standing, sitting, lifting, etc. for long periods of time in various weather conditions (hot/humid, rain, snow, winter)
Willing and able to work out-of-town on a 22 day on, 6 day off shift
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Safety-first attitude
Provide: must have hard hat, high visibility vest, CSA approved steel-toed safety boots/shoes
