As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that power analytics and machine learning initiatives. This role partners closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines across multiple data sources

Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability for analytics and business use cases

Collaborate with data architects to develop and optimize data models and storage solutions

Partner with data scientists and analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Monitor and optimize performance of data systems to support scalability and future growth

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers

Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance data engineering capabilities

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data systems and processes

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

5–7+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala

Experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Hadoop

Strong knowledge of relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Familiarity with ETL tools, data warehousing, and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow)

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerization technologies

Preferred: Prior leadership or mentorship experience in data engineering projects

Preferred: Relevant cloud or data engineering certifications
You will be part of the Data, AI and Analytics function within McCain’s Digital Technology team, working in a highly collaborative environment alongside data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders. The team focuses on building enterprise data capabilities that support global transformation initiatives and enable data-driven innovation across the organization.

Compensation Package: $69,700.00 - $93,000.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
