JIBC is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team in casual clerical/administrative roles, supporting various divisions at our New Westminster campus. These roles offer part-time and full-time assignments lasting up to four months. As a casual staff member, you will provide clerical/administrative support to the department which you are assigned. For example, you may contribute to the preparation and delivery of both in-person and online courses by completing tasks such as organizing and shipping materials, maintaining accurate records, and handling documentation using Microsoft Office. Additional responsibilities may include managing databases, coordinating course schedules with the Registration Office, and providing essential administrative support to our program teams and staff. You’ll interact with both internal and external contacts, answer inquiries about divisional programs for students and clients, and draft routine correspondence and reports, assist with production and copying, and perform other related tasks to ensure seamless operations across our programs. Preference will be given to applicants available for full-time work. - Secondary school graduation plus three years of relevant clerical / administrative experience; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with database management, word processing software (Intermediate MS Word, Excel), email, and internet applications; ability to learn new computer systems;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal contacts and external clients from diverse backgrounds;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate courteously and effectively with staff, faculty, administrators, students and the public, including government and ministry personnel;
- Proven ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment;
- Proven ability to multi-task, establish work priorities and to work in a high volume, detailed environment with attention to accuracy and timeliness;
- Ability to lift boxed course materials and equipment (up to 25 lbs.)

We offer compensation in lieu of benefits and vacation.
$26.12 to $29.53 per hour + benefits & vacation pay in lieu (BCGEU Pay Grid 9)

Casual, full-time or part-time (hours vary based on operational needs). Assignments start as they become available. Hours will typically be booked Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. with a maximum of 7 hours per day. Preference will be given to candidates who indicate availability for full-time assignments.
Candidates must live within a commutable distance to their designated JIBC campus work location.
