Overview

Join our vibrant entertainment venue as a Bowling Alley, Arcade, and Bar Attendant! In this energetic role, you'll be the friendly face that creates memorable experiences for guests of all ages. From assisting with bowling lanes and arcade games to serving drinks and snacks at the bar, you’ll ensure every visitor feels welcomed, engaged, and well taken care of. This paid position offers a dynamic environment where your enthusiasm and customer service skills will shine, making every day exciting and rewarding.

Bowling & Arcade Attendant Duties

Customer Service

Greet customers when they arrive.
Explain bowling, arcade, and facility rules.
Help customers select bowling times/lanes and arcade options.
Take payments and operate the POS/cash register.
Answer customer questions and handle basic complaints professionally.
Assist children and families when needed.

Bowling Duties

Set up bowling lanes for customers.
Enter names and player information into the scoring system.
Help customers with bowling shoes and equipment.
Monitor lanes during play.
Reset/set up lanes between groups as required.
Troubleshoot minor scoring or lane issues.
Report mechanical problems to management.
Ensure bowling areas remain safe and free of hazards.

Arcade Duties

Monitor the arcade area.
Help customers with arcade games and ticket machines.
Refill tickets, prizes, balls, tokens/credits, etc. as needed.
Clear tickets and other debris from machines.
Perform basic troubleshooting when a machine isn't working.
Tag/report machines that require repair.
Keep prize displays neat and stocked.
Assist customers with prize redemption.

Cleaning & General Upkeep

Clean tables, chairs, counters, and other customer areas.
Sweep/mop floors as needed.
Clean bowling approaches and seating areas.
Clean bathrooms regularly throughout the shift.
Empty garbage and recycling.
Keep arcade machines and other equipment clean.
Clean up spills immediately.
Restock paper products, soap, and other supplies.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming facility.

Food & Beverage Support

Prepare and serve approved food and beverages.
Follow food-safety and sanitation procedures.
Restock food and beverage supplies.
Keep food preparation and serving areas clean.
Wash dishes and utensils as required.
Follow age-verification procedures for alcohol sales.

Opening Duties

Unlock/open assigned areas.
Turn on required equipment and lights.
Check bowling lanes and arcade machines.
Ensure bathrooms and customer areas are clean.
Restock supplies.
Make sure the POS/cash area is ready.
Complete any required opening checklist.

Closing Duties

Clean and reset bowling and arcade areas.
Empty garbage.
Clean bathrooms.
Restock supplies for the next shift.
Shut down equipment as required.
Complete cash/POS closing procedures if assigned.
Check that doors, equipment, and designated areas are secured.
Report any problems, damage, or maintenance issues to management.

Safety & Responsibility

Monitor customers for unsafe behaviour.
Enforce facility rules consistently.
Report accidents, injuries, damaged equipment, or other safety concerns to management.
Know the location of emergency exits and first-aid supplies.
Never allow customers to access restricted areas or equipment.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

General Expectations

Be friendly, helpful, and respectful to customers and coworkers.
Arrive on time and be ready to work at the scheduled start time.
Stay active and attentive rather than remaining behind the counter when there is work to be done.
Keep personal phone use to breaks/emergencies.
Work as part of the team and assist with duties outside your primary area when needed.
Ask management when unsure how to handle a situation.
Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of Old Mill Fun Centre.
