HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Human Resources Business Partner – Site Based on behalf of our client, Equinox Gold, Valentine Gold Mine. The ideal candidate would have 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Reporting to the Superintendent, Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is key in supporting the Valentine Gold Mine and operations and will support leaders and employees on all aspects of human resources. Specifically, the HRBP supports the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs and provides consultation and guidance on all human resources initiatives, including, but not limited to recruitment, performance management, employee relations, disability management, and HRIS management.
This position is located at the Project site, working on a 2 week in/2 week out rotation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Human resources point of contact within the business for all HR related matters.
- Provide advice, guidance, and creative solutions to leaders on all HR related issues such as policy interpretation, employee development, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Advise and contribute to program and policy development.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, the Health the Safety and Environment Department, onsite clinic personnel, insurer representatives, and WorkplaceNL to support employees and managers.
- Consult with the HR manager in areas of complexity.
- Identify areas where HR alignment or support is required and enlist support from the
- Superintendent, Human Resources where necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, disability management, and employment law.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
- Drive and facilitate change throughout the organization which may include implementation of strategy, projects, or initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- An undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business, or Commerce.
- CHRP or Master’s is considered an asset.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience in recruitment, employee relations, disability management, and HRIS is required.
- Project related experience is considered an asset.
- Experience in a remote, operational, or industrial environment is considered an asset.

- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of best practice related to disability management and attendance support, workplace accommodations, and safe return to work programming.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Expert knowledge of legislation such as but not limited to the Labour Relations Act, Human Rights Act, 2010 etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to develop create and effective solutions to support a positive work environment.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Office applications.
- Ability to exercise appropriate levels of discretion and confidentiality.
- A valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract required.
