Full job description

Job Overview:

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced paramedics to join our remote medical team. The Remote Paramedic will provide emergency medical care and support at remote sites, including industrial operations, construction projects, and wilderness locations. As a key part of the medical response team, you will work from Mobile Treatment Centers (MTCs), quick-response SUVs, or remote camp, delivering high-quality medical care in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide emergency medical care, including basic life support (BLS) and trauma care, to individuals in remote or isolated locations.

- Assess and treat patients with a wide range of injuries and illnesses, stabilizing them for transport when necessary.

- Operate and maintain medical equipment to industry standards, including cardiac monitors, ventilators, defibrillators, and oxygen systems.

- Use reliable communication systems (satellite phones, high-speed internet, radios) to coordinate with off-site medical personnel and local emergency services.

- Prepare and transport patients to medical facilities, including coordinating air and ground evacuation in critical situations.

- Maintain accurate medical records and incident reports, documenting patient care and treatments provided.

- Ensure vehicles (MTCs and SUVs) or clinics are fully stocked with medical supplies and equipment, and perform regular equipment checks and vehicle maintenance.

- Provide health and safety advice to site staff and assist with preventive health measures.

- Act as a liaison between on-site staff, clients, and off-site medical teams to ensure effective communication and emergency response.

- Participate in health and safety meetings, drills, and training as required.

Qualifications:

- At minimum, registered with NLPR, a Primary Care Paramedic

- Minimum of 1-2 years of paramedic experience, with at least 1 year in a remote or industrial setting preferred.

- Strong knowledge of advanced life support, trauma care, and emergency medical protocols.

- Experience operating in harsh or remote environments (oil and gas, mining, construction, wilderness, etc.) is a plus.

- Proficient in the use of medical equipment such as defibrillators, cardiac monitors, and ventilators.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work as part of a team.

- Ability to adapt and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.

- Valid driver's license and the ability to drive emergency vehicles (SUVs, MTCs).

- Able to fly to and from site via plane and helicopter.
