Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Accountant & Property Manager to oversee accounting functions and commercial property management operations based in St. John's, NL. This is a diverse and dynamic role that offers variety and responsibility, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing both financial and operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
Accounting

Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple entities
-
Process and oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
-
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
-
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
-
Prepare and submit HST/GST remittances
-
Process payroll accurately and on time
-
Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation
-
Complete journal entries and month-end procedures
-
Maintain accurate and organized financial records
-
Support overall financial operations and reporting requirements
Property Management
-
Coordinate and oversee the operations of multiple commercial properties
-
Collect rent and monitor tenant accounts
-
Manage mortgage payments and related obligations
-
Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and service providers
-
Serve as a point of contact for tenants, contractors, and vendors
-
Assist with administrative functions related to property management
-
Ensure properties are well-maintained and operating efficiently
Experience & Attributes for Success:
-
5–7 years of accounting experience
-
Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting practices
-
Experience managing accounting functions across multiple entities is considered an asset

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience with Sage is a definite asset

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
