We are seeking dynamic seasonal merchandisers to join our team and drive merchandising strategies across designated big box garden centers. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing the visual appeal of our products, optimizing inventory placement, and ensuring a seamless customer experience within retail environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Display and maintain tree, shrub and perennial plants in a big box store setting while driving sales and exceeding customer expectations.
· Meet weekly deliveries and unpack product as outlined per plan-o-gram in a timely manner
· Visit retail location multiple times per week to assure plant displays are organized and easy to shop
· Ensure product displays are customer focused, signed and "shoppable"
· Consolidate, maintain and groom product as needed throughout the selling season
· Build and develop strong relationships with garden center staff and store management
· Assist customers with trees, shrubs and perennial plants
Skills and Knowledge:
· Previous garden center experience and/or tree, shrub and perennial plant knowledge an asset
· Attention to detail, effective organization and planning skills
· Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills
· Self-driven with the ability to work independently and as a team player
· Efficient worker, fast pace and highly motivated
Physical Demands:
· The position involves considerable physical work including: walking, lifting, moving, pulling and pushing of shipping carts
Work Environment & Requirements
· E-mail, computer and phone access for administrative tasks
· CSA approved safety shoes (steel toe shoes) required
Work Hours:
· Full-time, part-time hours available
· Seasonal contract length: End of March through August
Wage:
· Starting Wage: $19.00 per hour
