Job description
Hospitality and Retail Associates are responsible for providing consistent, outstanding hospitality to all visitors while focusing on Retail and Beverage club sales.
Ideal candidates for this position will have experience in the hospitality, sales and/or retail industry, with beverage knowledge (wine, beer, cider, spirits) being an important asset.
Our chosen candidates must be energetic, personable, dependable, upbeat and responsible. Candidates must be available to work flexible shifts, including Evenings, Weekends and holidays.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Achieving group and individual sales targets.
· Assisting customers with tastings and purchases.
· Ensure that the retail center and its environs are clean and ready for use by customers.
· Ensure that the retail center is well merchandised with appropriate specials, features and/or events.
· Conducting entertaining and informative tours and presentation about the winery, brewery, distillery, including performing structured tastings for tour groups.
· Promote Wine and Beer Clubs.
· Providing exceptional and professional customer service.
· Use a computer-operated point-of-sale system and perform opening and closing duties.
· Assisting with on-site and off-site special events
· Providing food and beverage service in both formal and informal settings
· Providing sales leads to the appropriate associate.
· Stocking shelves and fridges with beverage product and merchandise.
· Package wine and/or beer for customer orders and/or shipments.
· Performing general housekeeping duties.
· Any other duties and responsibilities as required
Requirements:
· Experience in the wine/beer, hospitality or retail industry with at least 2-3years experience would be "a great asset".
· Experience using Commerce 7 or other POS systems is also "an asset".
· Smart Serve Certification.
· 19 years of age or older.
· Assisting customers with tastings and purchases.
· Ability to work well within a team-focused environment.
· Motivation to exceed sales targets.
· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
· Responsible, dependable, trustworthy, ambitious and goal-oriented.
· Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
· Ability to stand and walk around for long periods of time.
· Ability to work independently and within a team structure.
· Ability to simple mathematics as it relates to counting money.
· Be available to work on Days, Evenings, Holidays, Weekdays and Weekends.
· Must have a reliable means of transportation (Off site events).
