VALUE OF THIS ROLE
The Fire Technician (Sales & Service) Assistant supports the Lead Fire Technician in performing annual inspections of portable fire extinguishers and emergency lighting systems across various customer sites throughout the Lower Mainland. This role plays a key part in delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining compliance, and identifying opportunities to drive additional sales and service revenue within assigned territories.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a combination of hands-on technical work, independent field-based responsibilities, and customer interaction. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and driven to build strong customer relationships while contributing to the growth and success of the business.
Please note: We are seeking candidates who reside in, or are conveniently located to service, the North Vancouver, Vancouver, and Burnaby areas and are comfortable travelling throughout this territory on a regular basis.
Compensation: This role offers a fully commission-based compensation structure with significant earning potential for motivated and high-performing individuals. A training wage of $23.20 per hour will be provided during the initial training period of 3-months. Upon successful completion of training, compensation transitions to a commission-based model designed to reward performance and drive uncapped earning opportunities.
CORE RESPONSIBILITES
- Assist the Lead Sales & Service (Portable) Fire Technician in completing annual inspections for a scheduled portfolio of customer sites within an assigned geographic territory.
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and service work independently or alongside senior technicians, ensuring all work is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Respond promptly to customer service requests, service calls, and inspection deficiencies, providing exceptional customer support.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to enhance customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnerships.
- Represent Radius Fire Protection in a professional and positive manner at all customer sites and interactions.
- Complete and submit inspection reports, service documentation, and billing information accurately and on time.
- Maintain inventory, organization, cleanliness, and readiness of the assigned service vehicle and equipment.
- Provide support to neighboring territories and team members during periods of vacation, increased workload, or operational requirements.
- Consistently achieve individual performance targets, including inspection, service, and sales-related objectives.
- Obtain and maintain ASTTBC certification for Portable Fire Extinguishers and Emergency Lighting (training provided by Radius Fire Protection).
- Identify opportunities for additional fire protection products and services and communicate customer needs to support business growth.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, company policies, and safety standards.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Completion of English 12 or equivalent.
- A valid full BC driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
- Mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude, with the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with customers.
