About the job

You will:

complete financial processing reviews and reconcile financial reports.
process and prepare documentation for a variety of financial transactions.
review transactions for accuracy and compliance with accounting practices.
track and monitor transactions to resolve processing issues.
oversee Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) master file management and ensure accuracy and compliance; resolve issues and refer complex cases as needed;
provide first-level support for EFT file queries with clear, effective communication.
provide on-going program business improvement support to management and clients.

What you bring to the team

Financial knowledge and experience

You have:

knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
ability to process financial transactions in line with corporate policies and recommend process improvements.
knowledge of arithmetic methods to perform calculations.
experience using computerized financial systems and spreadsheet software (e.g. Excel) to reformat and analyze data, use formulas, etc.
ability to obtain knowledge of ministries and their programs to respond and/or redirect enquiries from managers and staff.

Analytical and evaluative skills

You have analytical skills and attention to detail to identify and investigate discrepancies.
You demonstrate sound judgment to assess accounts, take appropriate action, and recommend procedural improvements.

Communication and interpersonal skills

You have:

communication and interpersonal skills to explain procedures and deal with ministry clients, staff and external suppliers.
tact and diplomacy when communicating with client mangers and staff.
ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
proven customer service skills.
