Job Overview

About Us

Elevate Athletics is North Bay's off-season strength and conditioning program, built by coaches with real experience at the university and professional level. We work with athletes across every sport, and we're growing heading into our second season. This year we're looking to add to our coaching staff.

The Role

We're looking for someone to help run training sessions this season, with real potential to grow into a lead coaching role down the road as the program expands. This is a great opportunity for a student or someone early in the fitness/coaching industry who wants hands-on experience working directly with athletes, not just shadowing.

You'll be working alongside our coaching staff to run group and individual sessions, help athletes through their programming, and be a positive, energetic presence in the room. Athletes range across age groups and sports, so no two sessions look exactly the same.

What You'll Do

Assist in running strength & conditioning sessions for athletes of various ages
Help coach proper technique and form during workouts
Support session setup, equipment, and general session flow
Build rapport with athletes and help keep training sessions engaging and motivating
Opportunity to take on more responsibility and lead sessions independently as you grow with the program

What We're Looking For

Some background in fitness, strength training, or athletics (personal training experience, competitive sports background, or currently studying Kinesiology/Exercise Science is a plus, but not required)
Comfortable working with kids and teens
Reliable, coachable, and genuinely interested in growing in the training/coaching field
Good energy — this matters as much as experience
Current First Aid/CPR certification and a clean Vulnerable Sector Check preferred

Details

Casual, part-time position — approximately 6–7 hours per week
Pay: $30/session (1 hour sessions)
Schedule: Evening sessions, 3x/week during the season (Nov–Apr)
Location: West Ferris Secondary School, North Bay
