Full job description

Job description:

Install curtain wall framing, aluminum frames and entrances, doors and hardware, structural silicone glazing and sloped glazing
Lay out, measure, and install/replace architectural glass and metal components and air/vapour barriers in systems such as entrance ways, windows, skylights, and curtain walls
Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products on walls, or exteriors of building
Position glass panes into frames and secure glass using clips, points or mouldings
Work with and install plastics, aluminum panels and other similar materials used as glass substitutes
Repair and service commercial windows, aluminum doors and other glass supporting structures, and replace damaged glass or faulty sealant
Work from mobile equipment, scaffolds, and swing stages
Install, fit, fabricate and attach architectural metals or related substitute products in commercial and residential buildings
Install pre-cut mirrors and opaque and transparent glass panels in frames to form exterior walls of buildings
Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
Assist skilled labourer when necessary
Prep sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
Load and unload construction materials
Follow instruction from supervisors
Ready to learn on-the-job training when necessary
Perform site clean up

Requirements

High degree of safety awareness and commitment to safety, their own and other workers
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Ability to travel (11-day runs)
Must be reliable and punctual
Ability to do physical labour and other strenuous physical tasks
Ability to lift 50lbs
Be at least 18 years of age
Driver’s License an asset
Criminal Record Check – Level 2

Compensation: Starting rate of $21.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
