Full job description

Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham in North Bay is seeking a qualified, dynamic, and energetic Guest Services Manager to lead and coordinate the hotel’s guest services and front-office operations.

In this pivotal role, the Guest Services Manager will oversee daily guest interactions, ensure exceptional customer service, and supervise a team dedicated to creating welcoming and memorable stays. The position is responsible for departmental planning, staff supervision, operating procedures, guest relations, cost awareness, and coordination with other hotel departments.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the daily activities of the guest services and front-office department.
Develop, implement, and review procedures for reservations, guest arrivals and departures, billing, guest requests, and service recovery.
Supervise front-office and guest-service employees and coordinate their daily work to maintain efficient hotel operations.
Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate employees, and ensure staff understand hotel procedures and service expectations.
Prepare staff schedules and organize coverage according to occupancy, business levels, and operational requirements.
Monitor departmental labour, supplies, and operating expenses, and assist with budget and cost-control activities.
Monitor reservations, room availability, occupancy information, and guest accounts, and coordinate operational requirements with other departments.
Coordinate with suppliers and service providers for equipment, materials, and services required for guest-service and front-office operations.
Resolve escalated guest complaints and service issues, and follow up on corrective actions and service recovery.
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance regarding room readiness, guest requests, maintenance concerns, and operational priorities.
Maintain operational records and prepare reports relating to guest services, staffing, occupancy, and departmental activities.
Participate in operational planning and implement measures intended to improve service quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

Employment Requirements

Previous experience in hotel, accommodation, or hospitality operations is required.
Previous supervisory or management experience in front office, guest services, or a related hospitality environment is required.
A college diploma or university degree in hospitality management, hotel management, business administration, tourism, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience supervising and training employees and coordinating work schedules is required.
Strong guest-relations, communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.
Experience with hotel reservation, property-management, or related computer systems is an asset.

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required by hotel operations.
