Overview
We are seeking a detailed oriented Law Clerk for Maternity Leave Coverage to support our legal team with research, drafting, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, proficiency in legal research tools, and excellent communication abilities. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional legal environment while contributing to case preparation and documentation management.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support ongoing cases and projects.
Assist with drafting legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, memos, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
Manage legal case files by filing documents electronically and physically, maintaining meticulous records in compliance with firm protocols.
Perform data entry and administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings.
Proofread and transcribe legal documents to ensure correctness and adherence to formatting standards.
Maintain professionalism in phone etiquette while handling client inquiries or internal communications efficiently.
Experience
Prior legal administrative experience is highly preferred.
Demonstrated research skills using Westlaw or LexisNexis to locate relevant case law and statutes.
Familiarity with LEAP or similar document management systems.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent writing skills for drafting memos, summaries, and correspondence with attention to detail.
Experience in document review, proofreading, transcription, and data entry within a law office setting.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and team members.
