We're a North Shore electrical contractor with our schedule booked solid through 2027. We're looking for an apprentice who wants to finish their ticket with something most journeymen don't have: certification on Lutron HomeWorks, RA3, Ketra and Shading.
We pay for that training. You keep it for the rest of your career.
Why this isn't a standard apprenticeship
Most apprentices spend four years pulling wire and hoping the work holds. Two things here are different.
The work is booked. Our schedule is full through 2027. You are not going to get laid off in February because a project wrapped.
The certification is rare and it's yours. There are very few people in the Lower Mainland certified to program HomeWorks QSX and commission Ketra. It is the difference between being one of several hundred residential journeymen and being the person the high-end builders call by name. We pay for the training, on the clock.
You'll also learn the commissioning and troubleshooting side, not just rough-in. Most electricians never get near it.
What you'll actually be doing
- Rough-in and finish on Lutron HomeWorks, RA3, and Ketra systems — high-end residential and commercial
- Motorized shade installation, alignment, and commissioning
- Low-voltage control wiring: dimming, keypads, occupancy and daylight sensors, integration with AV and building systems
- Programming and load-tuning alongside our experts, then on your own as you come up
- Service and troubleshooting on live systems — diagnosing what's actually wrong, not just replacing parts
- Reading and working from schematics, panel schedules, and lighting layouts
- Standard electrical work on the same jobs — you're still building your hours toward your ticket
Who we're looking for
- 1st–4th year apprentice
- Prior experience in electrical construction is highly desirable.
- Background in Lutron installations/programming considered very valuable but not a requirement
- Strong electrical knowledge with the ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
