WMB Holdings Ltd has been hauling feed across Atlantic Canada for over 30 years. Based in Truro, NS, we operate a fleet of 30+ trucks and 70+ specialized trailers, providing both bulk pneumatic and bagged feed delivery throughout NS, NB, PEI, and NL.
WMB is a stable company with an in-house shop and a strong team, and we are continuing to grow. To support that growth, we are looking for a Fleet & Maintenance Manager who can take ownership of fleet reliability, preventative maintenance, compliance, and day-to-day shop operations.

Key Responsibilities
Fleet Maintenance & Equipment Oversight
- Manage preventative maintenance (PM) schedules for all trucks and trailers.
- Oversee diagnostics, repairs, inspections, and breakdowns, both in the shop and on the road.
- Ensure equipment, tools, and shop facilities are safe and well maintained.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and compliance documentation.
Shop Leadership & Workflow
- Supervise and support mechanics and technicians.
- Assign work based on priority, skill level, and operational needs.
- Forecast major repairs/overhauls
- Review completed work and address issues as they arise.
- Coordinate workflow and planning with the General Manager.
- Participate in management meetings, reporting, and budgeting.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Ensure compliance with Canadian regulations.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment in the shop and across the fleet.
- Lead safety meetings and training for shop staff.
- Active Member of OHSA committee
- Assist with developing and improving maintenance procedures.
Inventory, Vendors & Costs
- Manage parts inventory, tools, and shop supplies.
- Track invoices and submit for payment in a timely manner.
- Maintain and grow relationships with suppliers and service providers.
- Coordinate outside repairs and emergency services when required.
Driver Support & Communication
- Communicate clearly with drivers regarding equipment issues and repair status.
- Support driver training related to inspections and equipment operation.
- Address mechanical concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track maintenance costs, downtime, and fleet performance.
- Use fleet software, telematics, and ELD data to support decision-making.
- Recommend equipment upgrades or process improvements as needed.
Internal Communication
· Key member of Management team
· Communicate to departments on various matters
· Produce reports, budgets on regular and ad-hoc basis
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in fleet maintenance or heavy-duty truck and trailer operations.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Driver’s License, Class 5
- Strong mechanical knowledge and preventative maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of Canadian trucking regulations.
- Ability to work independently with accountability and sound judgment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.
- Experience with maintenance software and telematics/ELDs.
Preferred
- Experience in feed hauling or agricultural transport.
- Heavy-duty truck or trailer certifications.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems, blowers, and bulk feed equipment.
- Valid Class 1 / CDL license.
Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work on your feet in a shop environment for extended periods.
- Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, machinery, and occasional outdoor work.
- Flexible hours may be required during busy periods or breakdown situations.
