Aqua Production Systems (APS) designs and builds commercial aquaculture and seafood holding systems across North America. Which is a fancy way of saying we spend a lot of time thinking about water quality, pumps, oxygen, logistics, deadlines, and occasionally explaining to people that yes, engineering and lobster emotional regulation overlap more than you’d think.
We’re looking for someone who can help grow the business while fitting naturally into the culture we’ve worked very hard to build.
This role involves prospecting, cold calling, relationship-building, follow-up, problem-solving, and a whole lot of communication. You should be comfortable introducing yourself to people you’ve never met before, starting conversations, asking good questions, and creating opportunities where none existed yesterday.
At APS, we are not interested in flashy “salesperson energy.” We are much more interested in people who are confident, curious, resilient, organized, and good with other people.
The right person builds trust, communicates well, and understands that great sales is often just helping people solve problems. You're driven, dependable, and know when to lead, when to listen, and when to ask for help before creating an exciting new problem for everyone else. Around here, collaboration usually beats heroics. It's also significantly easier on the blood pressure. We are competitive, but collaborative. We help each other. We share opportunities. We solve problems together. We work in a fast-moving environment with a lot of moving parts, and we genuinely enjoy working with people who can stay calm, practical, and occasionally funny when things get hectic. Never underestimate the value of a well-timed pun around here.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prospecting and developing new business opportunities
- Cold calling and building relationships with potential customers
- Following up on leads and maintaining communication with clients
- Working with the APS team to develop solutions and proposals
- Managing your activity and pipeline through company systems and processes

What Success Looks Like
In the first 90 days, you will be expected to:

Within the first year, success means you are consistently creating qualified opportunities, maintaining an organized pipeline, building trust with customers, and contributing directly to revenue growth.

- Can call someone you have never met without making it weird.
- Asks better questions than most people.
- Follows up when you say you will.
- Can handle rejection without becoming dramatic.
- Likes technical products, even if you are not an engineer.
- Can balance confidence with humility.
- Wants to win, but not at the expense of the team.
