Art Instructor Position – Drawing, Painting, Crafts & Portfolio Preparation
Seraphina’s Music & Art School is currently seeking a passionate and creative Art Instructor to join our growing team. We are looking for an instructor to teach students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 in drawing, painting, crafts, art techniques, and university portfolio preparation.
The position is 2–3 days per week, with teaching hours after 3:00 PM.
Wage and work hours are flexible and will be discussed during the interview.
Preference will be given to candidates with a teaching certificate, diploma, or degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
A Child Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Record Check will be required upon hiring.
Job Overview

Duties
- Develop and deliver engaging art lessons for students from Grade 1 to Grade 12
- Teach drawing, painting, crafts, mixed media, and a variety of art techniques
- Provide both one-on-one and small-group instruction
- Support students in developing creative thinking and artistic skills
- Assist students with high school and university art portfolio preparation
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Create a positive, organized, and inspiring classroom environment
- Help organize student art exhibitions and studio events
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and colleagues
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized art studio
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience teaching art to children and youth of various ages
- Strong knowledge of drawing, painting, composition, and art techniques
- Experience with university portfolio preparation is an asset
- Ability to teach both one-on-one and small-group classes
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for inspiring young artists
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs
- A teaching certificate, diploma, or degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field is preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
