B-Line Tire & Auto Supply Ltd. has been serving the automotive industry since 1985 and is a leading distributor of automotive shop equipment, tire service equipment, automotive lifts, tools, and supplies throughout Western Canada.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Automotive Hoist Installation & Inspection Technician to join our Service Team. This mobile position is primarily responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and annual safety inspection of automotive vehicle lifts and related shop equipment throughout Alberta and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Install two-post, four-post, scissor, alignment, in-ground, and specialty automotive vehicle lifts.
- Perform annual automotive hoist inspections in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and industry safety standards.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical issues on automotive lifts.
- Install and service related shop equipment including air compressors, tire changers, wheel balancers, and other garage equipment as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on customer equipment.
- Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDI), equipment commissioning, and operational testing.
- Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications and applicable safety requirements.
- Anchor and level lifts while verifying concrete specifications and installation requirements.
- Replace hydraulic cylinders, hoses, cables, pulleys, equalization systems, power units, and other lift components.
- Educate customers on the safe operation, maintenance, and inspection requirements of their equipment.
- Complete digital inspection reports, service work orders, and documentation with photos using a mobile device.
- Load, transport, and unload equipment safely using forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory in a professional manner.
- Build strong customer relationships by providing exceptional service and technical support.
Qualifications:
- Experience installing, servicing, or inspecting automotive hoists is strongly preferred.
- Mechanical experience with automotive, industrial, agricultural, or heavy equipment is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems is an asset.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, drills, rotary hammers, and precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read installation manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Forklift certification or experience is an asset.
- Experience towing flat-deck trailers is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physically capable of lifting equipment and working in shop and field environments.
- Willingness to travel throughout Alberta and occasionally outside the province when required.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
