Opportunity: Library Page

Schedule to be Determined: Please include your availability in your application.

Permanent Part-Time (4 hours per week) x 2 positions available.

$19.26 per hour

About the Role:

The Okanagan Regional Library (ORL) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Page. This entry-level position is ideal for students who are eager to contribute to a welcoming, organized, and community-focused library environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Sort, organize, and shelve library materials according to established procedures
Retrieve, return, and shift items on shelves; maintain tidiness of public areas
Participate in shelf reading to ensure accurate order and record keeping
Assist in the setup of seasonal displays and event spaces (as time allows)
Respond to basic directional questions and refer inquiries to library staff
Fulfill daily pick list duties
Perform additional tasks or projects under supervision as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:

Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
Strong attention to detail and conscientious work habits
Demonstrated ability to file alphabetically and numerically with accuracy
Reliable and punctual with a courteous and respectful demeanor
Capable of physical tasks, including lifting book bins, pushing book trucks, and shifting collections
Comfortable communicating with staff and the public in a tactful manner

Education and Experience:

No formal education or experience is require
On the job training provided
