Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Behaviour Interventionist/Mentor to provide in-home support for children with behavioral and developmental needs. This role involves working closely with children to promote positive behaviors, develop life skills, and support their overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in working with children, preferably with experience or training in special education or related fields. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives while gaining valuable experience in behavioral support and patient care.

Duties

Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under supervision, promoting positive behavior strategies
Provide one-on-one mentorship and support to children within their home environment
Assist children with daily routines, social skills, and educational activities
Collect and document data on behavior progress and intervention effectiveness accurately and consistently
Collaborate with families, therapists, and other team members to ensure cohesive care plans
Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment conducive to learning and development
Monitor for safety concerns or medical issues during sessions and report appropriately
Work collaboratively with team consultant supervising client cases

Skills

Experience working with children, especially those with behavioral or developmental challenges
Knowledge of special education practices and behavior management techniques
Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach to working with children and families
Proficient in data collection methods to track progress and inform intervention strategies
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, team members, and other professionals
Reliable, responsible, and adaptable to meet the needs of each child in the home setting

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
