Important Requirement
This is a senior level freight brokerage role.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in freight brokerage.
This experience must include freight brokering, carrier sourcing, spot quoting, rate negotiation, and North American freight movement. Applicants who do not meet this minimum requirement will not be considered.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Logistics Coordinator, Freight Brokerage and Pricing to join our operations and pricing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting customer pricing, managing spot quotes, sourcing carrier capacity, negotiating freight rates, coordinating shipments, and helping ensure freight moves smoothly from pickup to final delivery.

Key ResponsibilitiesPricing, Quoting, and RFP Management
- Review, analyze, and respond to RFPs, RFQs, and spot rate requests
- Prepare competitive and profitable pricing for cross border, domestic Canadian, and U.S. freight lanes
- Evaluate rate expectations, accessorial charges, equipment requirements, delivery standards, and service expectations
- Identify missing information, unusual requirements, or potential issues within bid packages and request clarification when needed
- Source and negotiate rates with existing and new carrier partners
- Balance customer expectations, service levels, carrier performance, and margin targets
- Maintain accurate pricing records and support internal pricing strategy
Carrier Procurement and Market Knowledge
- Build and maintain strong relationships with asset based and non asset based carriers
- Source capacity for FTL, LTL, temperature controlled, flatbed, specialized freight, intermodal, and rail shipments
- Understand carrier core lanes, costing structures, seasonal capacity changes, fuel impacts, and market trends
- Monitor freight market conditions, capacity shifts, and pricing fluctuations across North America
- Negotiate spot and contract rates that support service, cost, and profitability goals
- Develop reliable carrier options for existing and new customer opportunities
Freight Coordination and Operational Execution
- Coordinate freight movement across Canada, the United States, and cross border lanes
- Manage inbound, outbound, reverse logistics, trade show, and customs related shipments
- Enter accurate shipment details into the TMS
- Prepare tenders, bills of lading, and related shipping documentation
- Track shipments from pickup through final delivery
- Proactively identify and resolve service issues
- Communicate shipment updates to customers, carriers, and internal team members
- Support billing, invoicing, and shipment reconciliation as required
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in freight brokerage
- Experience processing quotes and rates for new and existing customers
- Experience with load brokerage, spot quoting, carrier sourcing, and rate negotiation
- Strong knowledge of North American carrier networks
- Strong understanding of current market rates and carrier relationships
- Experience with cross border and domestic freight within Canada and the United States
- Knowledge of LTL, FTL, highway, temperature controlled, flatbed, specialized, and domestic freight pricing
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent telephone etiquette and professional communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to analyze information from multiple sources and make sound decisions
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Working knowledge of load boards such as Loadlink, DAT, and Truckstop
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer and carrier relationships
- A team first attitude with a professional, reliable, and solutions focused approach
Preferred Assets
The following would be considered strong assets:
- Experience using UFOS TMS
- CIFFA certification
- SCMP professional certification
- Knowledge of ocean and air freight
- Experience with FCL and LCL freight
- Experience with intermodal or rail freight, including CN and CP lanes
- Existing carrier relationships within Canada and the United States
