Full job description

Le Gourmand Café is looking for a reliable and motivated Prep / Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate is organized, hardworking, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment. You will be responsible for food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and supporting the team to ensure high-quality dishes are served consistently.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare ingredients for daily service (washing, cutting, portioning, and organizing).
Assist with cooking and assembling menu items according to café standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items.
Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
Monitor stock levels and communicate prep needs to the kitchen supervisor.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a prep cook or line cook preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.
Flexible availability, including weekends if required.
