Job Summary

We’re seeking an experienced and dedicated Asphalt Raker to join team.

Reporting to the Foreman/Woman, the Asphalt Raker is responsible for raking hot asphalt to specified slopes and grades, maintaining a clean and organized job site, and ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and safety.

This is a hands-on field role ideal for professionals who take pride in precision, teamwork, and delivering quality results on every project.

Collaborate with the paving crew to perform hot asphalt work efficiently and safely.
Rake, level, and smooth asphalt to required slopes and grades with precision.
Support and train junior rakers to ensure proper raking techniques and consistent quality.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, securing tools and materials daily.
Operate skid-steers and rollers when required to assist with paving operations.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely from company trailers.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform minor maintenance as needed.
Ensure all tools, machinery, and vehicles are clean and in good working condition.
Perform other site-related or maintenance duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of asphalt raking experience (required).
Minimum 2 years of experience operating a skid-steer or paver (preferred).
Valid Class G driver’s licence (required).
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Strong ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Excellent physical condition — able to lift, bend, kneel, and work long hours.
Calm under pressure, dependable, and safety-conscious.
Proficient in spoken English and able to follow instructions accurately.
Flexible to work weekdays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
