Dir Treasury 21: Salaries typically range from $150,715 to $200,953 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location:
- Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of three in-office days per week (subject to change).
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.

Team Overview:
EDC's Treasury department is involved in financing the corporation and managing its cash reserves according to policies and procedures. The team borrows internationally, funding in G7 and emerging market currencies, managing a foreign exchange portfolio to support EDC’s financial transactions which are done in over 170 markets. The team mandate is to support Finance by working collaboratively with its trusted partners externally and on the business teams. Treasury's aim is to assist in developing innovative solutions for its customers by leveraging its knowledge and expertise while contributing to EDC's financial sustainability by managing the funding, liquidity and market risks of the Corporation.
What you will be doing:
The successful candidate will lead a team of Treasury portfolio managers who support Treasury in a number of areas, including funding, liquidity, foreign exchange, asset/liability management, documentation, research and analysis and the management of the Treasury activities for EDC’s wholly owned subsidiary, FinDev Canada. The Assistant Treasurer will provide support to and act as a back-up for the Treasurer.

Key responsibilities
- Responsible for a team of Treasury portfolio managers who develop and execute complex financial strategies and transactions

Leads and evolves the funding program (long-term debt and commercial paper) to align with EDC’s changing business needs and trends in the capital markets

Develops EDC’s Asset/Liability, Funding and Liquidity Strategy with support from Treasury management and oversees the execution of the strategy

Supports Treasury in the advancement of EDC’s investor relations’ program, marketing EDC to international investors through face-to-face meetings, webinars, panels and other communication channels

Oversees the management of EDC’s US and Canadian Dollar liquidity investments

Provides oversight on the documentation of EDC’s bond transactions and funding programs

Develops an extensive network of relationships with Canadian government departments, investors, investment counterparties, and financial institutions, as well as our SSA peers in the capital and money markets

Engages with senior business leaders across the organization to understand long-term strategic challenges and offer specialized technical expertise and solutions to strategic initiatives

Mentors Treasury team members, especially on the more complex technical aspects of the Treasury function. Advises on the development of Treasury talent and expertise

What we are looking for:
- Finance or Business Administration-related degree with strong quantitative analysis skills

In-depth understanding of the bond and foreign exchange markets, pricing and derivatives

Excellent presentation skills, decision-making, ability to see the big picture and consolidate a lot of complex information

Minimum 10 years’ experience working in treasury or related discipline & Minimum 5 years of leadership experience
- Bilingual in both official languages (English and French)
