Full job description

Position Summary:
The Director of Program Management will lead a team of Project Managers and drive cross-functional execution across our medical device portfolio. This leader will be responsible for building strong program management practices, ensuring operational rigor, and delivering complex development and commercialization programs on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities (This list is not exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned):

Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers responsible for product development and cross-functional business programs.
Establish and strengthen program management standards, tools, governance, and reporting across the organization.
Oversee multiple complex programs from concept through commercialization, including planning, execution, risk management, and post-launch support.
Partner closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Commercial leaders to align priorities and drive execution.
Develop and maintain integrated program plans, timelines, budgets, resource plans, and executive-level status reporting.
Identify program risks, interdependencies, and resource constraints early, and lead mitigation and escalation planning as needed.
Ensure programs are executed in compliance with applicable regulatory and quality requirements, including FDA expectations and medical device quality system requirements.
Drive portfolio visibility, decision-making, and accountability through clear governance forums, metrics, and communication.
Support strategic planning, prioritization, and resource allocation to align program investments with business objectives.
Champion continuous improvement in program delivery, cross-functional collaboration, and organizational effectiveness.
Ensures that all direct reports are familiar with, trained on and follow all Quality System procedures related to their jobs which can affect the quality of products or services provided to

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises up to 4-6 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of progressive program or project management experience, including significant experience in the medical device or other highly regulated industry.
5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing and developing Project Managers or similar roles.
Proven success leading complex cross-functional programs in product development, transfer to manufacturing, and commercialization.
Strong knowledge of regulated product development environments, including medical device quality systems and regulatory requirements such as FDA and ISO 13485 frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to build program management discipline, governance, and scalable operating processes.

Certifications, Licenses, & Registrations

PMP or similar project management certification preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
Strong business acumen, problem-solving capability, and ability to influence across functions and levels.

Canada Pay Transparency Clause
This posting is for an existing vacancy. The expected annual base salary for this position is $170K-210K CAD. This role may also be eligible for a company bonus or commission plan, as applicable to the position. Canadian work experience is not required.
