We are the largest private supporter of high-performance sport in Canada and we are responsible for all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including the participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games.
This internship will support capacity building work on the System Excellence team specifically with Game Plan, with an emphasis on Mental Health support. Game Plan is Canada’s holistic athlete-support network that empowers national athletes with practical ways to live healthy, balanced and personally successful lives at every stage of their journey. Established in 2015, Game Plan is a globally leading initiative which functions in collaboration with the Canadian Olympic Committee, Canadian Paralympic Committee, Sport Canada and the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network.
LOCATION
This position will be located in one of the COC’s offices (Montreal, QC, at 500 René-Lévesque Boulevard West; or in Toronto, ON at 250 Yonge St. Suite 3000). We offer a hybrid work model that allows for up to two days of remote work each week.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES
Game Plan, Mental Health
- Resource development (infographics, handouts) and updates as needed
- Preparing announcements/resource sharing (i.e. messaging around annual mental health milestones like Bell Let’s Talk, Mental Health Month etc.)
- Event planning and coordination (bookings, primary contact for staff questions related to events/training etc.)
- Managing Sport Science Canada Mental Health Discipline basecamp - dropping recordings, resources and responding to low-level questions/practitioner comments etc.
- Develop and manage Mental Health Lead drop box (compiling pre-existing resources in the drive to one folder, adding resources as they are developed/shared etc.)
Mental Health Network administration - booking consultation calls, speakers and support with applications to be America Psychological Association (APA)/Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) recognized Continuing Education Unit (CEU) providers

Game Plan, General
- Support data/reporting in Salesforce for Game Plan
- Assist with the development of Game Plan’s Work Experience programming and Career expansion:
- Developing intake forms, data insights to support athlete employability, resource and tools for tracking.
- Assist with establishing onboarding processes for athletes and companies interested in growing Game Plan’s career support/resources
- Content planning and promotion of ProStart, our career resource
- Coordinate and update resource materials among the Canadian Sport Institutes/Centers
- Develop and publish content for the LA 2028 Family & Friends Portal.
- Support with enhancing and promoting Game Plan’s Coaching Education program

QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS
- Must be enrolled in a Canadian degree or diploma program in Psychology, Sport Management, or a relevant field.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
- Strong copywriting skills and an eye for detail.
- Experience with MailChimp (or other email campaign software) is desirable.
- Strong skills in analyzing, organizing, and communicating (oral and written).
- Ability to use Canva or equivalent to design handouts.
- Naturally creative and willing to contribute to existing projects.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects.
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively individually and in a team.
- Great sense of accountability.
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Canada’s Olympians, Paralympians and national team athletes is an asset.
- Passion for sport and helping others.
- General interest in amateur sport.

TERM
This full-time internship will run from approximately September 2026 to December 2026 , depending on the intern’s availability and the academic calendar.
COMPENSATION
This is a paid internship. The intern will earn an hourly wage of $1 8.50 with a maximum of 35 hours per week.
