Make a Difference This Summer
Montessori Kids by OneHealth is seeking energetic, compassionate, and reliable Summer Camp Counsellors to support children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and related developmental needs in our unique ABA and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Summer Camp Program.
This is an exciting opportunity for individuals pursuing careers in education, psychology, child and youth care, social work, recreation, behavioural sciences, or health care.
Our camp focuses on friendship skills, social communication, emotional regulation, life skills, outdoor adventures, community participation, and creating meaningful summer experiences for children and youth.

Camp Hours
Monday to Friday
Typical shifts between:
- 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Support children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental differences.
- Assist with daily camp activities, games, crafts, outdoor play, and community outings.
- Implement behaviour support strategies under clinical supervision.
- Promote social skills, friendship building, and emotional regulation.
- Support children during transitions and group activities.
- Collect simple behavioural and participation data as required.
- Assist with sensory activities and structured learning experiences.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors and team members.
- Participate in daily camp preparation and clean-up.
- Swim program, be confortble swimming with you
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience working with children or youth.
- Experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder is considered an asset.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
Transportation & Community Support Requirements
Some children and youth attending our programs require transportation support for camp activities, community outings, and occasional pick-up or drop-off services.
Staff who are willing to use their personal vehicle for approved transportation may be eligible for:
- Mileage reimbursement
- Paid travel time when transporting clients
- Additional community outing hours
Requirements:
- Valid Ontario Driver's License
- Reliable vehicle
- Proof of automobile insurance
- Clean driver's abstract
- Comfortable transporting children and youth when authorized
Mileage and travel time are reimbursed in accordance with company policy and only for approved transportation assignments.
Having access to a vehicle is considered a strong asset for this position but is not required for all Summer Camp Counsellor roles.
Education (Preferred)
Students or graduates in:
- Child and Youth Care
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Education
- Behavioural Science
- Developmental Services Worker (DSW)
- Early Childhood Education (ECE)
- Recreation and Leisure Studies
- Related fields
Requirements
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check (required prior to start)
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to participate in outdoor and community activities
- Ability to lift, move, and actively engage with children throughout the day
