Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Secretary/Bookkeeper to join our team! This vital role combines administrative excellence with financial acumen, ensuring smooth office operations and accurate financial record-keeping. You will be the backbone of our administrative functions, managing correspondence, scheduling, and supporting our accounting processes with enthusiasm and precision. Your proactive approach will help foster an organized, efficient workplace while maintaining meticulous financial records to support business growth. Duties

Manage daily administrative tasks including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence to keep office operations seamless.
Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
Act as foundational support for accountants and CPAs.
Data entry and maintenance - record daily financial transactions in the general ledger using QuickBooks..
Assist with payroll processing by collecting timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Year-End Preparation - assist accountants by cleaning up records and preparing working paper files for year-end corporate tax returns.
Compliance - ensuring compliance with federal and provincial tax regulations, including HST/GST remittances.

Experience

5 years of experience in public accounting.
Software proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop and CaseWare.
Proficiency in Excel.
Time management skills - able to pivot between different clients.
Adept at meeting deadlines.
Attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to clients as well as with other team members.
