Job Summary
CTS Canadian Career College is seeking passionate and experienced Massage Therapy professionals to join our instructional team. This dynamic role offers opportunities to share your expertise across a variety of areas, including clinical supervision, outreach coordination and supervision, hands-on skills instruction, and online theory instruction. Depending on your experience and availability, instructors may support students in one or several areas of the Massage Therapy program.
As a Massage Therapy Instructor, you will play an important role in preparing the next generation of Registered Massage Therapists by delivering engaging instruction, supervising students in clinical and outreach settings, providing individualized feedback and remediation, and supporting student progress throughout the program. You’ll work collaboratively with the Program Coordinator and instructional team to ensure students receive a high-quality educational experience while maintaining College policies, program requirements, and professional standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative
1.0 Support a cooperative and coordinated environment among clinic and outreach staff.
2.0 Participate in the student appeal and complaint process when requested.
3.0 Assist in coordinating clinic and outreach components between instructors, ensuring Instructor Manuals and relevant documents/policies are followed.
4.0 Assist with tracking student hours in accordance with college procedures.
5.0 Attend graduation ceremonies.
6.0 Follow and implement the policies and procedures established by the College.
7.0 Participate in meetings with staff, Program Advisory Committee (PAC), and Internal Program Review Committee (IPRC) when requested.
8.0 Participate in student orientations on site or virtually as requested.
9.0 Maintain proper records of student hours as directed by the Program Coordinator.
10.0 Submit required documentation and reports as requested by the Program Coordinator.
11.0 Assist with grading and ensure marks report forms are submitted on time.
12.0 Support the review of student medical documents to ensure requirements for clinic and outreach are met.
13.0 Provide regular remediation hours with students in need of assistance as directed by the Program Coordinator.
14.0 Assist in managing the Massage Therapy group email.
15.0 Communicate with students as needed when situations arise.
Instructional
16.0 Teach students using a systematic plan that consists of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, interactive activities, independent and group projects
17.0 Inform students, beforehand, of the basis upon which their performance will be evaluated;
18.0 Organize and effectively use classroom time
19.0 Use instruction techniques/methods that recognize and take into account needs and learning capacities of students
20.0 Modify techniques during instruction in response to the needs of the students
21.0 Assist students in developing efficient learning skills and work habits
22.0 Ensure all course objectives and modules are taught according to the program schedules
23.0 Implement course outlines and daily breakdowns
24.0 Modify course outlines in light of the needs of the students
25.0 Establish an appropriate atmosphere in the classroom which is conducive to learning
26.0 Maintain fair, firm and consistent discipline with the students
27.0 Regularly monitor student progress and adjust courses accordingly
28.0 Prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses
29.0 Prepare, administer and mark tests and papers to evaluate students' progress
30.0 Provide individualized tutorial or remedial instruction to students who require it
31.0 Supervise independent or group projects
32.0 Base the evaluation of students on the guidelines established by the College
33.0 Ensure that the evaluation of students is appropriate;
34.0 Keep accurate and complete records of student performance
35.0 Ensure all evaluation records are regularly updated on the college’s electronic server;
36.0 Prepare final examinations in accordance with guidelines established on the course outline
37.0Provide timely feedback to students regarding academic progress
Clinical Supervision
38.0 Support a positive and professional clinic experience for students and clients.
39.0 Provide supervision, support, and feedback to students during clinic.
40.0 Supervise clinic activities under the direction of the Program Coordinator.
41.0 Assist the Program Coordinator in ensuring cancellations and clinic openings are addressed.
42.0 Provide individualized feedback and extra support to students as required.
43.0 Assist with student evaluations using College-approved forms and procedures.
44.0 Keep accurate and complete records of student attendance and performance.
45.0 Update evaluation records on the college’s electronic server as directed.
Outreach Supervision
46.0 Assist with outreach opportunities as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
47.0 Review expectations of outreach with students at the start of each outreach.
48.0 Support communication of outreach expectations to outreach staff when needed.
49.0 Follow established college processes for outreach activities.
50.0 Supervise student treatments during outreach and provide feedback and correction when necessary.
51.0 Record and sign off on student treatments performed during outreaches.
52.0 Track and report student attendance during outreach hours.
Other
53.0 Maintain accurate documentation in all areas of responsibility and ensure safe storage of records.
54.0 Stay current on industry trends and maintain CMTO certification.
33.0 Pursue professional development within the massage therapy profession.
34.0 Pursue professional development in instructional skills for adult learners.
35.0 Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
Qualifications
Education
The successful candidate needs to be a Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and hold a current membership with the provincial massage therapy association (RMTAO). Must currently hold or be willing to obtain first aid and CPR level HCP to monitor the clinic.
Experience
The successful candidate requires a minimum of 24 months of working experience in their field of study to qualify as an industry instructor. It will be a requirement for this position that the candidate maintain professional registration through the governing body during employment.

Compensation
The successful candidate can expect starting rate for instructor duties between $30-$33 per hour.
