Full job description

Position Summary

The Program Coordinator assists with the day-to-day coordination and scheduling of Family Support Workers to meet Social Development’s requirements for transporting children and/or providing supervised visits for children in care. The Program Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of supportive tasks and will be the lead contact with Social Development. The Program Coordinator must be able to solve a variety of problems using critical thinking.

Qualifications

· Minimum Grade 12 education

· At least one year’s experience as an office clerk or other clerical position

· Must hold or be willing to obtain Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) certification through the Child Passenger Association of Canada (CPSAC). Certification will be provided to the successful candidate if not already certified

· Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, the ability to work effectively within a team environment, sound decision-making abilities, and the capacity to work with minimal supervision

· Proficient English Language skills (oral and written)

Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Above average communication (both verbal and oral) and strong organizational skills
Strong capability to multi-task and finish assigned projects before deadlines are due
Highly efficient time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Willing and able to complete all mandatory and optional training to excel in the role

Job Requirements

· Clear Criminal Record check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (current within three months of today’s date)

· Clear Social Development Check

· Current First Aid and CPR Level C Certification

· Valid class 5 driver’s license, access to a vehicle in good repair with proof of insurance and clean Driver Abstract

· Professional reference from supervisor at current/last employer

Responsibilities/Duties

· Supervise and support the Family Support Workers. Involves scheduling, regular check-in’s, approving timesheets & mileage claims, and organizing and providing training.

· Work closely with the Executive Director to monitor staffing levels; post job ads, review resumes, perform reference checks and set up/assist with the interview process

· Be proficient with using the designated app for scheduling and timekeeping

· Review the visit reports/notes completed by the Family Support Workers, ensuring proper documentation

· Ensure all workers have a valid driver’s license, a vehicle in good repair, proof of insurance and are trained on proper car seat installation

· Submit all reports to the necessary parties by the deadline or upon request

· Other Duties as Assigned
