Health & Wellness and WSIB Management Coordinator
The Health & Wellness and WSIB Management Coordinator is responsible for supporting employee health, wellness, disability management, workplace accommodation, and occupational injury/illness claim management. This role ensures compliance with applicable legislation, supports safe return-to-work practices, promotes employee wellness initiatives, and works collaboratively with leadership, employees, healthcare providers, and external agencies to maintain a healthy and safe workplace.
This position plays a key role in reducing workplace injury costs, improving employee attendance and wellness outcomes, and supporting organizational operational needs.
WSIB / Occupational Claims Management
- Administer workplace injury and illness claims in accordance with Provincial WSIB/WCB legislation and organizational policies.
- Coordinate timely reporting of workplace incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
- Complete and submit required WSIB documentation including Form 7s and related correspondence.
- Maintain ongoing communication with injured employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, and WSIB case managers.
- Monitor claim status, return-to-work plans, and modified work arrangements.
- Assist with the development and implementation of safe and suitable return-to-work programs.
- Track claim costs, lost-time claims, and trends to support injury reduction initiatives.
- Participate in appeals, claim reviews, and supporting documentation preparation as required.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of employee medical and claim information.
Attendance & Disability Management
- Monitor employee attendance and absenteeism trends.
- Support attendance management programs and related documentation.
- Coordinate employee medical accommodation processes and maintain related records.
- Assist managers with employee wellness concerns, medical leaves, and workplace accommodations.
- Liaise with disability carriers and healthcare practitioners regarding employee functional abilities and return-to-work planning.
- Maintain confidential employee health files and documentation.
Health & Wellness Programs
- Support the development and promotion of workplace wellness initiatives.
- Coordinate employee wellness education and awareness programs.
- Promote mental health, psychological safety, and employee well-being initiatives.
- Assist with workplace health promotion campaigns and activities.
- Encourage employee participation in wellness programs and resources.
Occupational Health & Safety Support
- Work collaboratively with Health & Safety committees and leadership teams.
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective action follow-up.
- Support compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and internal policies.
- Maintain records related to workplace injuries, accommodations, and safety initiatives.
- Participate in workplace inspections, audits, and safety meetings as required.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee health and claims records.
- Prepare reports related to absenteeism, WSIB claims, modified work, and wellness initiatives.
- Track key performance indicators related to attendance, claims management, and employee wellness.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance employee support and reduce absenteeism.
- Must have 2-5 years in experience in similar role.
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
