We are looking for another bartender/server to join our growing team that has some experience with cocktail making, a passion for craft beer is definitely an asset and the most important, non-negotiable, an amazing customer service personality! Looking for someone who can start right away through the summer and into the fall! We will also accept seasonal for the right person.
Key Responsibilities:
- Beer Curator: Stay up to date on a rotating lineup of craft beers, from local legends to hidden gems. Your mission is to know associated tasting notes and some primary differences between beers of the same style to help guide each guest toward their decision. While beer knowledge is an asset, it can certainly be learned to the extent needed. Tasting notes and pertinent information will be provided to you if required.
- Food Prep: Prepping ingredients and prepping small food items according to recipe. Serving to customers.
- Cocktail Creator: Craft mouthwatering cocktails that complement our beer selection and wow our patrons. Recipes will be provided. Cocktail flair would be an asset (even if you are in the learning stages).
- Overseeing Karaoke Rooms: Oversee service of our private karaoke rooms (where applicable), ensuring each visitor has what they need to facilitate an unforgettable rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "Man! I Feel Like Woman".
- Guest Experience Specialist: Build rapport with guests, offer personalized drink recommendations, and make every visit memorable. Your goal is to create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels like a VIP.
- General Duties: Prepare and serve beverages and food items; maintain cleanliness of the bar; operate the POS (point of sale) system and handle payments; assist in restocking inventory; uphold Smart Serve and Food Handling standards; provide an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Non-Negotiables:
- At least 6 months of experience either making cocktails, pouring and recommending craft beer or serving
- Willingness/ability to learn quickly
- Responsibility, integrity and reliability
- Friendly, outgoing and charismatic personality
- Desire to please our guests and get to know them - we are looking for someone who goes beyond the job basics. Our motto is that tips are earned and not expected ;)
- Basic technology skills
- Desire to exceed expectations of management and guest experience
- While we aim to be as flexible as we can, you will need the ability to work various shifts. Given the industry, weekends, evenings and holidays are to be expected on a regular basis. Shift trades are acceptable as available
- Dependability and solid communication with leadership is a must
- No criminal record
- Fluent English
Great To Have:
- Passion for craft beer
- Existing wine or cider knowledge
- Any beverage related certification
- Social media experience
- Hospitality experience or enrolled in a hospitality-type program
**Smart Serve and Food Handling certification will be required prior to your first shift if you do not already have it. It will not be reimbursed but if you do not have it currently, it will not be a barrier to apply**
