Overview
We are currently searching for the Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning Department. The financial Analyst supports the Financial Planning function by assisting with financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, financial planning, etc. This role focuses on the management and internal report with the data-driven analytical support, and providing backup coverage to ensure smooth execution of financial planning activities
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- GIC Management
- Calculation of FTP (Fund Transfer Pricing)
- CDIC returns
- Assist with Budget Management
- Assist with Financial Planning
- Backup support for Treasury
- Backup support for Regulatory reporting
- Support for internal/external Audits
- Participate new treasury initiatives project (GIC on boarding/ Note issuance, etc)
- Perform other ad-hoc assignments requested by Senior Manager and CFO
Key Responsibilities :
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare and deliver the periodic (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually) management reports with analyses.
- Prepare and deliver the internal reports.
- Prepare analytical reports to support CFO and Sr. Manager.
Support to Treasury
- GIC Management.
- Calculation of FTP
- Backup for fund operations.
- Backup for FX dealing and FX rate maintenance.
Assist with Budget Management
- Prepare and deliver periodic (monthly, quarterly, and annually) budget management report.
- Prepare and deliver the budget progress report against planned budget with analysis.
- Provide backups to budget disbursement.
Assist with Financial Planning
- Support the preparation of financial plan, budgets and forecast.
- Assist with various analyses and explanation of key movements with data driven support.
CDIC
- Prepare and submit Differential Premium (DP) report which classifies the Bank into one of four premium categories
- Calculate CDIC Return of Insured Deposit (RID) to pay annual premiums on insured deposits as a condition of membership
- Maintain CDIC related policies and procedures including working manual
- Support CDIC related function in compliance of CDIC Law and Act
Backup support for regulatory reporting
- Provide support on regulatory reports to various regulatory bodies (OSFI, Bank of Canada and Stat. Canada).
- Participate the rule adoption process under the implementation of new rules from the regulatory bodies
Other duties
- Perform other ad-hoc assignments requested by Manager and CFO
- Support for internal/external Audits reviews
- Participate new treasury initiatives project (GIC on boarding/ Note issuance, etc.)
Qualification and Skills :
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or equivalent academic background.
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Have strategic thinking with analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Understanding of financial market, Canadian banking service and financial instruments
- Knowledge of economic principles and practices.
- Proficiency in MSO skills.
- Korean speaking is an asset
