Practice Details:

Located in the charming lakeside desert community of Osoyoos. This lovely rural town of 5,000 people is currently served by 7 Family Physicians working in 2 clinics. The population increases substantially in summer when tourists come to enjoy the long, sunny days, sandy beaches, and wineries. In addition, a growing population of "Snow Birds" come to enjoy the mildest winter climate in Canada.

Our clinic is located in downtown Osoyoos. Our building is just a 2-minute walk to the local beach and many eateries. Our clinic is 45 mins away from Penticton Regional Hospital where patients will have access to excellent specialist services.

Our clinic is well-staffed and has an Office manager and 3 MOAâ€™s. Each physician will have 1 dedicated office space plus 2 exam rooms. Our clinic is very spacious with recent renovations. Each room is well equipped, we use Accuro EMR. We are a designated Primary Care Network site and we have a Psychiatric Nurse, a Community Worker, a Social Worker and a Registered Dietician.

We have a great work atmosphere and collegiality where hallway consults are quite the commonplace. We cover absences (holidays etc.) for each other and are very supportive of each other. There is mentoring available for any new-to-practice physician and for those not familiar with our local healthcare system.

The right candidate will start their own practice at their own pace. They will have their own patient panel. There are plenty of available patients on the Health Connect Registry list maintained by the Ministry. You would also be responsible for inpatients and long-term care patients from your own practice. There is an opportunity for ER shifts (APP remuneration) at SOGH in Oliver and Doctor of the Day shifts that come with a reasonable stipend.

Remuneration : FFS/LFP. range 300,000 to 600,000 depending on clinic hours and addition of ER shift.

Qualifications:

Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)
Eligible for licensure with CPSBC
Doctorate in Medicine
Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory

Estimated Gross Income

$300,000-600,000. Income is FFS/LFP and based on your work volume. Income may vary.
