POSITION

Hourly Teacher - English as a Second Language – Beginner level I (Main Campus in Gatineau)

The College is seeking an hourly paid professor to join a dynamic team to teach an ON-SITE non-credited course within Continuing Education in the Fall of 2026.

English as a Second Language Beginner Level 1 (30 hours)

This 30-hour conversation course introduces students to basic grammar and vocabulary for everyday interaction. Students will be guided through a theme-based curriculum that presents them with common, useful language points, which they will practice through fun, interactive activities that focus on listening and speaking skills.

Start Date: September 15th, 2026
Holidays (no classes): none
End date: December 1st, 2026
Schedule: Tuesdays from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm (12 weeks)
Delivery Format: Onsite Main Campus in Gatineau

WORK LOCATION

325 boul. de la Cité-des-Jeunes, Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, J8Y6T3

ROLE SUMMARY

In a general way, the professor's teaching load shall include: preparation and production of course, delivery of training, production and delivery of all training documents, adaptation of training to clients' needs, objectives and desired learning outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

A combination of relevant diplomas or certifications in a related field, and a combination of industry experience related to the courses being taught.
A Bachelor's degree is not required, but would be considered an asset.
Experience teaching adult learners would also be considered an asset.
Must possess excellent communication skills in English.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to:

Create a dynamic, challenging, and motivated learning environment.
Adapt to a variety of needs and provide appropriate online support.
Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter through academic or non-academic experiences.
Apply theoretical concepts to current workplace needs and skill requirements.
Must be flexible as required.
Must be willing to work collaboratively within Continuing Education.

SALARY

$50.00 per hour.
