The head office for the Quality Assurance and Compliance Unit is located at 315 Front Street Toronto, Ontario however alternate work locations will be assigned based on the home addresses of successful candidates against the following potential location - Ottawa.
As a Program Advisor, you'll be assessing compliance of developmental service agencies with a focus on the health, safety and wellness of individuals in care. In this impactful role, you will:
- Conduct agency and home site visits independently or in teams to inspect, evaluate, and assess services provided by ministry-funded agencies.
- Identify compliance issues and recommend corrective actions and improvements.
- Prepare detailed compliance documentation and reports.
- Communicate compliance requirements and provide assistance to agencies as needed.
- Ensure agencies are fully compliant with policy directives as well as legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with community agencies and ministry regional offices.
- Engage in ad hoc committees and projects as required.
You are proficient in English and have oral and written French language skills at the advanced level.
Knowledge of programs, policies, and procedures for adults with developmental disabilities, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory standards.
- Understanding of Ministry funding for services and supports.
Legislative Proficiency: Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and regulations, including the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities Act 2008, Ontario Regulation 299/10 Quality Assurance Measures, to assess compliance and address breaches of sensitive client information.
You are:
- Skilled in assessing and evaluating services provided to adults with developmental disabilities by ministry-funded agencies.
- Proficient in performing on-site inspections to ensure adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements.
You can:
- Prepare, compile letters and present program-related information to agencies, ministry staff, and stakeholders.
- Liaise with public health, fire departments, and other government bodies.
- Influence and encourage compliance improvements by advising on best practices and recommending program or operational changes.
You are:
- able to use a variety of software applications, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, to prepare compliance inspections, correspondence, reports, and presentations.
