Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support our financial operations by managing essential bookkeeping tasks, processing transactions, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. This role starts as a part-time position with a guaranteed minimum of 24 hours per week, with the requirement to be on call for up to 40 hours per week as operational needs demand. For the right candidate, this role offers an excellent pathway to transition into a full-time career with the ability to grow and learn new roles. Comprehensive paid training on our industry-specific systems will be provided.

Duties

Generate, verify, and issue accurate customer invoices and statements for steel orders and fabrication projects.
Post and reconcile daily customer payments (cheques, EFTs, credit cards).
Monitor aging accounts and perform professional collections follow-ups.
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies for customer account inquiries.
Maintain organized records of financial documents and transactions for audit readiness
Support month-end and year-end closing activities through account analysis and reporting
Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing issues and improve financial workflows

Experience

Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk, bookkeeper or a post secondary education in accounting and/or bookkeeping.
Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle
Strong communication and customer management skills
Ability to perform accurate data entry with high attention to detail and efficiency
Basic math skills coupled with analytical capabilities for account analysis
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficiency in Excel is a strong asset
Experience with Steel Plus software is a major asset, but not required as paid training is provided.

Pay: $22.00-$29.00 per hour
