Full job description

Our client, a long-standing family-owned local business related to the construction industry, located in the East end of Ottawa, is currently looking to hire Two (2) Warehouse Associates / Yard Labourers to join their team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys physical labour and teamwork.

Required skills and qualifications:

Must have own steel-toed safety boots
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Minimum 6 months of experience in a labour-intensive role (warehouse, construction, landscaping, or similar)
Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including travelling between the warehouse and construction sites to assist with deliveries
Valid G Class driver's licence required
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Eagerness to learn and develop new skills
Physically capable of safely lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs independently, and heavier loads as part of a coordinated team lift

Assets:

Bilingualism (English / French)
Construction experience

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Load and unload materials, equipment, and products from delivery vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
Assist customers with order pickups by locating, preparing, and loading materials into their vehicles
Organize, sort, and store inventory to maintain a clean and efficient warehouse environment
Support delivery drivers with shipments to construction sites throughout the Ottawa Valley as required
Perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment and parts using hand tools and power tools
Prepare, paint, and refinish parts and equipment as needed
Act as a spotter to ensure the safe movement of materials and equipment within the warehouse
Operate a forklift to transport materials and assist with loading and unloading activities following successful certification
Provide backup delivery support by transporting products and equipment to customer locations and construction sites throughout the Ottawa area
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment at all times

The starting wage for this position ranges between $20.00 to $21.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Monday to Friday – 7:00am to 4:30pm
